"Aw Go on, go on, go on..." words of gentle encouragement to sit down and drink a cup of tea! These words have now found a new art form from the very talented Jane Steger-Lewis.
The poster forms part of her range of prints, which reference Irish culture in a contemporary fashion. Steger-Lewis set up her business "I love Mayo" in Co. Mayo on the West Coast of Ireland. For those not familiar with Irish Geography, it could have looked like "I Love Mayo" was a reference to her appreciation of Mayonnaise, but alas no! She creates these illustrations by hand; they are scanned and then commercially printed.
You don't have to have any connection to Ireland to like these bright and playful prints! They work extremely well in a simple white or cream frame and look super in kitchens! I took myself off to Ikea to buy a few white frames and photograph her prints here. I love this Marie Antoinette reference!
The Posters start at $29.50 and the smaller prints are $14.95 both are currently sold unframed. A few of her smaller prints are printed in Irish (As Gaelige).
